Premiação do Grammy ocorre neste domingo em L.A.

No próximo domingo, 8 de fevereiro, ocorre a 51ª edição dos Premios Grammy. O evento ocorre no Staples Center, ginásio usado pela equipe de basquete Los Angeles Lakers. Quem lidera a lista de indicações este ano é o rapper Lil Wayne, com oito indicações, entre elas a de Melhor Album do Ano, com seu trabalho Tha Carter 3. Em segundo lugar, aparece a banda britânica Coldplay, que traz sete indicações e também figura na lista de Melhor Album do Ano com Viva la Vida.



Entre os brasileiros, o destaque vai para Gilberto Gil , cujo disco Banda Larga Cordel concorre pela categoria de "Melhor Album de World Music Contemporânea". Com ele, aparecem os trabalhos Shake Away, da cantora mexicana Lila Downs ; Global Drum Project , de Mickey Hart, Zakir Hussain, Sikiru Adepoju e Giovanni Hidalgo; Rokku Mi Rokka, do senegalês Youssou N'Dour e Live At The Nelson Mandela Theater, do grupo sul-africano Soweto Gospel Choir .



No Brasil, quem transmite a festa é o canal fechado Sony Entertainment, no domingo, dia 8, a partir das 23h.
